Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 23, 2026 • Version 1.0.0
1. Introduction
Welcome to Corex. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Corex application.
Corex is a platform designed for students and community members to share information, post updates, connect with others, and participate in community-based spaces called Cores and SubCores. Anyone who installs the app can register and start using Corex immediately. Joining a Core is entirely optional and can be done at any time after registration.
As the platform evolves, its scope may expand to include broader communities.
By using Corex, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at corex.application04@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Registration Information
Every user who installs Corex must complete a one-time registration. We collect:
- Full Name: For internal account integrity
- Username: A unique handle of your choice, used as your public identity on the platform
- Email Address: Used for account verification, communication, and account recovery
- Password: Your chosen password, stored securely in hashed/encrypted form and never in plain text
Once registered, you are a Normal User with full access to the platform.
2.2 Core Membership (Optional)
Cores are large, institution-level communities on Corex. You may join one or more Cores at any time. Joining is not required to use the platform. To join a Core, you will provide:
- A Unique Identifier (such as a Roll Number or organization-specific code) to verify your eligibility
- This identifier is hashed immediately upon submission and is never visible to other members
- If a new institution is detected, it may be added to our database
You may join multiple Cores if you are affiliated with more than one institution. Each Core has its own Core Chatroom, accessible to all verified members of that Core.
2.3 SubCore Access (Via Core Only)
SubCores are focused, group-level spaces within a Core, such as departments or branches. SubCores can only be accessed through their parent Core. You must be a verified member of a Core before you can join or participate in any of its SubCores.
Each SubCore has its own SubCore Chatroom, accessible to members of that specific SubCore.
2.4 Profile & Display Preferences
- Your Username is your default public identity across the platform
- You may set a Nickname in your settings for a more personalized presence
- An Anonymous Mode is available exclusively within Chatrooms and QuickAsk interactions. While your identity is masked from other users, Corex maintains internal attribution for safety, moderation, and abuse prevention
2.5 User-Generated Content
We collect and store content that you contribute, including:
- Text posts, photos, and videos
- Likes and engagement activity
- QuickAsk Inquiries including the query text, chosen visibility scope (Core-wide or SubCore-specific), and the selected Expiry Timer (1h, 6h, 24h, or 3 days)
2.6 Chatroom & Communication Data
We collect and store:
- Text messages and media shared within Core Chatrooms and SubCore Chatrooms
- Timestamps and basic chat activity logs
- QuickAsk messages and replies, retained temporarily until the user-selected timer expires, after which they are purged from active feeds
2.7 Device and Usage Data
- Device type
- Operating system version
- App activity logs (such as feature usage and crash reports)
User data may be stored and processed on secure servers operated by Corex or trusted third-party service providers.
3. How We Use Your Information

- Core Feed posts are visible to verified members of that specific Core
- Core Chatroom messages are visible to all verified members of that Core
- SubCore Chatrooms are visible only to members of that specific SubCore, accessible exclusively through the parent Core
- QuickAsk content is visible based on the selected scope until its expiry threshold is reached
- Anonymous toggle in QuickAsk hides your identity from peers but is internally attributed to your account
Users are responsible for the content they upload.
Corex reserves the right to remove content that violates platform rules, intellectual property rights, or applicable laws.

Corex does not sell personal information.
We may share information only:
